June 26, 2020 Update

Dear Valued Elitch Guest,

We can’t thank you enough for your patience as our team at Elitch Gardens continues to work hard toward an opening this season.   Since the COVID-19 pandemic hit in March, we have worked with theme and water park industry experts across the country to develop an elevated operational plan that would allow us to open safely for guests and team members in this new environment.

Our plan, a comprehensive and detailed 56-page COVID-19 operating strategy, includes guest and employee health screenings, greatly enhanced cleaning protocols, regular sanitization of all high touch surfaces, free and readily available hand sanitizer throughout the park, broad social distancing measures, proper use of personal protective equipment, a reduced hourly flow of guests into the park to eliminate congestion at our front gate and reduced in-park capacity to encourage easy social distancing and reduce guest density.  We even directly engaged one of the country’s top epidemiologists to review and advise us on our plan prior to submitting it to local and state authorities.

To date, over 75% of the top U.S. attractions including brands like Disney, Universal Studios and numerous Six Flags parks, have either re-opened or have been able to publish an opening date.  In our community, the Denver Zoo, Botanic Gardens and Museum of Nature and Science and Downtown Aquarium have all been allowed to re-open, as have gyms, shopping malls, casinos, churches, restaurants and bars.  We are confident in our plan to open safely and expect to be treated fairly as we anxiously await approval from our local and state authorities.

However, despite our efforts and considerable investment already made to enact our new safety protocols, I cannot yet give you an opening date for Elitch Gardens. I realize how incredibly frustrating this is for our all our guests.  For our current 2020 season pass holders, we will extend their season pass into our 2021 season for as many days as the park is closed this season. This extension applies to any 2020 dining plan already purchased, too. Click here to see details!  This extension offer will be valid on any season passes and dining plans sold until we announce our 2020 opening day.

I am not giving up hope that we will soon have an opening date for 2020 and ask for your continued patience and support.  As soon as I have new information, I will share that with you.  We stand ready to welcome you back and celebrate the 130th Anniversary of Elitch Gardens!  It seems that now more than ever, our world needs a place like Elitch Gardens where friends and families can go to make memories together that will last a lifetime.

Sincerely,

David Dorman

May 28, 2020 Update

Dear Much Appreciated Fans,

Thank you for continuing to stick with us during these unprecedented times. I wish we were all together again here at the park but due to the current circumstances, we will all have to wait a little bit longer. But trust me when I tell you that when we do finally throw open these front gates, we’re going to be performing at our best to make up for all the lost time!

While we are not yet able to announce an opening date, please rest assured we are working hard towards that end. We have been in discussions with both City and State authorities involving guidelines for re-opening, busily recruiting and training 2020 team members for the upcoming season, planting flowers by the thousands, testing all of our rides and waterslides and spiffing up the place, all in anticipation of seeing your smiling faces before too long. Just as soon as an opening date is confirmed we will communicate that directly to you.

Once again, thank you for your support. We can’t wait to see you at the park again soon!

Sincerely,

David Dorman

May 1, 2020 Update

May 1, 2020

Dear Valued Guests,

First and foremost, I hope that you, your family and your friends are healthy and staying safe during these challenging days. This truly is an unprecedented time for all of us and I would like to thank you for your patience as we work through the many new challenges this pandemic has presented to us all. I also wanted to take a moment and update you on the current status of our opening and plans for the upcoming 2020 season.

Unfortunately, due to guidance from both City and State authorities, Elitch Gardens will not be able to open as previously planned on May 16. We are still planning to open the park as soon as possible thereafter. Just as soon as an opening date is confirmed we will communicate that directly to you.

Our entire team is working hard to be ready to welcome you back so we can all celebrate together!  Rest assured that when we open, we will have the most strict and detailed safety and sanitation protocols in place to prevent the spread of COVID-19 and keep you and your family safe. As our opening date gets closer, we will make these policies available for you to view on our website.

We can’t thank you enough for your continued support and understanding.  Your loyalty and patronage mean so much to us and will allow Elitch Gardens to continue creating fond memories during our 130th anniversary this season and years to come.  Please know that our entire team looks forward to welcoming you back soon!

Many thanks,

March 18, 2020 Update

March 18, 2020

Dear Elitch Gardens Guests:

As an important part of Denver’s historic landscape since 1890, Elitch Gardens Theme & Water Park is committed to continue the tradition of providing quality family fun to our community. The safety and well-being of our guests and team members have always been our top priority.

As our guests, we understand you may have questions about COVID-19 and our park. We want to provide you with information and keep you updated on future plans.

At this time, Opening Day, originally scheduled for April 11, has been postponed. We are currently planning to open on May 16. With big things in store for 2020, we are looking forward to celebrating our 130th anniversary with you this season.

We have specific, stringent sanitation protocols in place for every operating department. In preparation for Opening Day and while closely monitoring the evolving situation, we have put in place plans to exponentially increase our sanitizing protocol and will continue to follow the guidance of state and local health agencies.

All guest and team member high-touch points including surfaces, railings, technology screens, handles and doors will be sanitized throughout the day as per regular policy. We are also adding additional hand sanitizer stations throughout the park. Anti-bacterial soap will continue to be available throughout the park and signs will be installed to remind team members and guests of health and hygiene best practices.

In addition to the steps outlined above, we will ask team members who are exhibiting cold or flu-like symptoms to stay home and contact their healthcare provider. The park will follow guidance from local and state officials, as well as the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) and World Health Organization (WHO.)

Please continue to check our website as we will share updates as they become available.

We look forward to entertaining you at Elitch Gardens soon!

FAQs

When will the park open for the season?

At this time, Elitch Gardens is still planning to open for the 2020 season.

We are working with guidelines set forth by the city and county of Denver, the state of Colorado, World Health Organization (“WHO”), Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (“CDC”), Occupational Safety and Health Administration (“OSHA”)  and respected industry organizations such as the International Association of Amusement Parks and Attractions (IAAPA), the World Waterpark Association (WWA), International Ride Training (IRT) and Jeff Ellis & Associates, Inc. (E&A) to assure the park is a safe place to be and have fun just as soon as we can open.

As soon as an opening date is confirmed we will communicate that directly to you!
