May 28, 2020 Update

Dear Much Appreciated Fans,

Thank you for continuing to stick with us during these unprecedented times. I wish we were all together again here at the park but due to the current circumstances, we will all have to wait a little bit longer. But trust me when I tell you that when we do finally throw open these front gates, we’re going to be performing at our best to make up for all the lost time!

While we are not yet able to announce an opening date, please rest assured we are working hard towards that end. We have been in discussions with both City and State authorities involving guidelines for re-opening, busily recruiting and training 2020 team members for the upcoming season, planting flowers by the thousands, testing all of our rides and waterslides and spiffing up the place, all in anticipation of seeing your smiling faces before too long. Just as soon as an opening date is confirmed we will communicate that directly to you.

Dear Valued Guests,

First and foremost, I hope that you, your family and your friends are healthy and staying safe during these challenging days. This truly is an unprecedented time for all of us and I would like to thank you for your patience as we work through the many new challenges this pandemic has presented to us all. I also wanted to take a moment and update you on the current status of our opening and plans for the upcoming 2020 season.

Unfortunately, due to guidance from both City and State authorities, Elitch Gardens will not be able to open as previously planned on May 16. We are still planning to open the park as soon as possible thereafter. Just as soon as an opening date is confirmed we will communicate that directly to you.

Our entire team is working hard to be ready to welcome you back so we can all celebrate together!  Rest assured that when we open, we will have the most strict and detailed safety and sanitation protocols in place to prevent the spread of COVID-19 and keep you and your family safe. As our opening date gets closer, we will make these policies available for you to view on our website.

Dear Elitch Gardens Guests:

As an important part of Denver’s historic landscape since 1890, Elitch Gardens Theme & Water Park is committed to continue the tradition of providing quality family fun to our community. The safety and well-being of our guests and team members have always been our top priority.

As our guests, we understand you may have questions about COVID-19 and our park. We want to provide you with information and keep you updated on future plans.

At this time, Opening Day, originally scheduled for April 11, has been postponed. We are currently planning to open on May 16. With big things in store for 2020, we are looking forward to celebrating our 130th anniversary with you this season.

We have specific, stringent sanitation protocols in place for every operating department. In preparation for Opening Day and while closely monitoring the evolving situation, we have put in place plans to exponentially increase our sanitizing protocol and will continue to follow the guidance of state and local health agencies.

All guest and team member high-touch points including surfaces, railings, technology screens, handles and doors will be sanitized throughout the day as per regular policy. We are also adding additional hand sanitizer stations throughout the park. Anti-bacterial soap will continue to be available throughout the park and signs will be installed to remind team members and guests of health and hygiene best practices.

In addition to the steps outlined above, we will ask team members who are exhibiting cold or flu-like symptoms to stay home and contact their healthcare provider. The park will follow guidance from local and state officials, as well as the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) and World Health Organization (WHO.)

FAQs

When will the park open for the season?

At this time, Elitch Gardens is still planning to open for the 2020 season.

We are working with guidelines set forth by the city and county of Denver, the state of Colorado, World Health Organization (“WHO”), Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (“CDC”), Occupational Safety and Health Administration (“OSHA”)  and respected industry organizations such as the International Association of Amusement Parks and Attractions (IAAPA), the World Waterpark Association (WWA), International Ride Training (IRT) and Jeff Ellis & Associates, Inc. (E&A) to assure the park is a safe place to be and have fun just as soon as we can open.  

As soon as an opening date is confirmed we will communicate that directly to you! 

Is the park open for early activation of passes?

At this time, the Season Pass office is temporarily closed. When it is safe to do so, we will re-open. You can also activate your Season Pass anytime the park is open for normal operation. The deadline to pick up your free souvenir cup is being extended.

I have one-day tickets to the park. What should I do?

One-day tickets are valid any regular operating day through November 1, 2020. Check the operating calendar for details.

Will the free souvenir cup with my Season Pass deadline be extended?

Yes! The Souvenir Cup deadline is being extended! We will distribute the cups to season pass holders for the first three weekends the park is open.

How does the delayed open affect my 2020 Season Pass?

Visit by benefits with your 2020 Season Pass are being extended! Stay tuned for new dates! 

Your 2020 Season Pass and Season Pass Dining Plans will continue to be valid for the duration of the season it was originally purchased for. We have added additional value-added benefits to your 2020 Season Pass! Including:

  • A $10 Season Pass credit will be added to your EZ-Band! This FREE money can be used on in-park purchases for food or merchandise. No action needed to receive! The credit will be added directly to your EZ-Band once your pass is activated.
  • Free Drink Fridays – Get free refills all day long with your 2020 souvenir cup every Friday in June, July and August!
  • Free ice cream sandwiches for 2020 Season Pass holders only from 3pm-5pm on Sunday Fundays. One a month in June, July and August. Stay tuned for dates!
  • Early Ride Time on Select Attractions EXCLUSIVE for pass holders on June 20, July 18 and August 8. More details to come!
  • Friday Night Franks for only $1 will be available for purchase on Dive-In Movie Nights!
  • Wet ‘N’ Wild Wednesday Nights become EXCLUSIVE Season Pass holder nights. Enjoy private hours on some of your favorite water park attractions on Wednesdays in July from 6pm-8pm!
  • Plus, even more value-added benefits to come! Stay tuned!

If you have already visited the park and activated your pass for 2020, please visit the My Pass Page at www.elitchgardens.com/MyPass to see the new changes. Your credit will appear in your account in 14 business days. If you haven’t activated your pass yet, not to worry. The credit will be applied once you do.

For guests participating in the Payment Plan program, your monthly payments will continue as scheduled.

May I get a refund for my Season Pass/Day Ticket?

While these times are uncertain, we know that creating fond memories with your family will always be important and our team at Elitch Gardens looks forward to welcoming you to the park this summer. Your season pass or daily admission ticket is valid throughout the 2020 season. We remain thankful for your support and patronage, now more than ever.

Season Passes and Day Tickets are non-refundable as stated at purchase and will be valid any regular operating day in 2020. The policy also applies to non-admission purchases and any specific day VIP Experience purchases.  For Season Pass holders, we will be providing additional benefits and special events this summer when we re-open to make up for the inconvenience.

I have a group event planned at the park during the closure. What should I do?

Contact your group organizer/leader for details. Group organizers/leaders should contact their park account representative directly. If you’re not sure who your park account representative is OR you purchased your group tickets (of 15 or more) from the website, please email us at [email protected] and we will help you.

Are you still hiring for the 2020 season?

COVID-19 NOTICE

For the safety of all our guest and team members, we have increased all health and safety measures at Elitch Gardens Theme & Water Park.  You must follow all posted instructions and instructions given by our team members while visiting.

The CDC and local health departments advise that older adults and people of any age who have serious underlying medical conditions might be at higher risk for severe illness from COVID-19.  There is an inherent risk of exposure to COVID-19 while in any public place where people are present.  By visiting Elitch Gardens Theme & Water Park, you are voluntarily assuming all risks related to exposure to COVID-19.
