Taxes are Stressful, Working at Elitch Gardens is Fun!

Elitch Gardens Theme and Water Park is Hiring 1,500 Seasonal Employees

DENVER, CO (April 15, 2014)–  With the stress of Tax Day almost over, hungry job hunters can now look ahead to exciting and fun, new prospects. Those looking for employment this summer need to look no further than Elitch Gardens, which plans to hire more than 1,500 employees for its 2014 season. On Sunday, April 27th, Elitch Gardens will hold a Job Fair from 10 A.M. until 4 P.M. to interview and hire qualified persons on the spot. The Job Fair will be held at the Main Gate Entrance of the park, 2000 Elitch Circle, and parking will be free.

Many team members are already on board and jobs are filling fast. With less than a month until the park opens on May 3rd, more than 15 departments are looking for candidates with a variety of skill sets and experience. Immediate opportunities are available in food service, park services, ride operations, and retail.. Other opportunities are available in games, gift shop sales, aquatic operations, skilled trades and park maintenance, guest services, security, and safety. Operating on weekends and holidays throughout May and transitioning into full-season daily operation starting Memorial Day weekend, Elitch Gardens’ staffing needs will grow and fluctuate throughout the summer to reflect this season’s increased operating calendar.

“Without a doubt, Elitch Gardens is one of the best summer jobs around,” said General Manager Christopher Thorpe, “giving employees the opportunity to meet new people and have fun experiences with guests from all over Colorado.”

For the employees hired this season, 2014 will be one of the best years to join the Elitch Gardens team. The park recently announced the addition of five free concerts, three free Dive-In movies, and an all-new 7-story, steel looping thrill ride, Brain Drain. DENVER, CO (March 6, 2014)–  Elitch Gardens Theme and Water Park announced today that it will be opening a new thrill ride this May.  Brain Drain is a 7-story steel looping thrill ride that sends riders forwards, backwards and head-over-heels in an adrenaline drenched 360° revolution.

“As we celebrate our 124th birthday, we are extremely excited to add the first thrill ride in a decade to the theme park,” said Tracy Durham, Elitch Gardens Theme & Water Park’s director of marketing.  “Guests can let their hair fly as they shuttle back and forth with suspense before wildly looping seven stories in the air. With back to back seats facing either direction, each ride on Brain Drain is a unique experience with great views of the Denver skyline and the Rocky Mountains”

Elitch Gardens has also added more days, more hours, and more family fun. This year, concerts are back and free with daily admission or a Season Pass. With performances by Disney superstars Zendaya and Bridgit Mendler, plus Christian rock group Newsboys and Hispanic music favorite Conjunto Atardecer and more to come, Elitch Gardens is ready for a summer of fun!

With all the rides, slides and shows at Elitch Gardens, a Season Pass is the best value and with prices rolled back $10 this year, it pays for itself in less than two visits. Season Pass holders can be the first to ride Brain Drain before the park opens to the public, with an exclusive invite to the Season Pass Sneak Peek Party on May 2nd. Elitch Gardens Brings Back Concerts for 2014

To Feature Disney Singers, Hispanic Music, and Contemporary Christian Rock

DENVER, CO (February 11, 2014)– Elitch Gardens Theme and Water Park will strike all the right chords in Denver with an impressive 2014 Summer Concert Series headlined by: Zendaya, Conjunto Atardecer, Newsboys, and Bridgit Mendler. Elitch Gardens’ Concert Lineup is back this year by popular demand with top acts that have something for everyone.

Zendaya will be taking the stage by storm when she performs on June 7. Platinum recording artist, actress and author, Zendaya, released her self-titled debut album in the fall and starred in Disney’s hit show Shake It up. Zendaya has also written her first book, “Between You and Me” where she shared advice on fashion, friendships and family.  Next up, Zendaya will be starring in the Disney Channel original movie, Zapped premiering this fall and has recently wrapped filming a Spy Pilot for the network where which she will star in and serve as co-producer.  Zendaya finished as the runner up for season 16 of Dancing with The Stars.

Performing on June 15, Conjunto Atardecer, an international hispanic music favorite, will lend a Latin flavor to Elitch Gardens with music from their 17 albums.

Newsboys will be taking stage for a day of family, fun, and fellowship when they perform on July 26. With 16 albums and 5 gold records, Newsboys are top Christian music performers and will be rocking the house with music from their latest album, “Restart.” Opening for Newsboys is 1 Girl Nation, a passionate and exuberant group made up of five young women, each possessing a strong, distinctive voice and tons of personality.

Hot off her just released debut album “Hello, My Name is…,” with the platinum-certified single, “Ready or Not,” the Disney Channel star of “Good Luck Charlie” Bridgit Mendler will perform on August 2.

Along with bringing some of the nation’s favorite acts to Colorado, Elitch Gardens is one of the most exciting venues to catch a concert in the Mile High City. The newly expanded Elitch Arena gives park guests intimate concert performances with scenic Downtown Denver and the Rocky Mountains setting the musical backdrop.

In support of the beloved Broncos, Elitch Gardens will be lighting up the iconic Big Wheel and Observation Tower orange and blue in a united front of fandom that VISIT DENVER and Mayor Hancock have dubbed Orange Thursday, showing the Ravens just whose turf they’re on.

As an added bonus, the downtown Theme and Water Park will light up the skyline orange and blue tonight as well to help build excitement for the big game and welcome any traveling Ravens fans into Denver properly. “Fitted with an energy-efficient light system made up of 250,000 LEDs, the Big Wheel can instantaneously stir excitement in Denver,” said Tracy Durham, Elitch Gardens Marketing Director. “Combined with the Observation Tower, that stands over 250 feet tall and is an iconic part of the downtown skyline, we are going to shine bright with Bronco pride.”
