Elitch Gardens Opens, Launching The Unofficial Start To Summer
Kicks Off Season With A New Thrill Ride and Special Character Meet-N-Greets
DENVER, CO (April 30, 2014)– Elitch Gardens Theme and Water Park opens for another highly anticipated season on Saturday, May 3rd. Having added a new thrill ride to the theme park, guests are excited to be the first to ride. Brain Drain is a 7-story steel looping thrill ride that sends riders forwards, backwards and head-over-heels in an adrenaline drenched 360° revolution. Guests get their hang time as they shuttle back and forth with suspense before wildly looping seven stories in the air.
In addition to the all new thrill ride, Elitch Gardens’ opening weekend will welcome the return of some very special guests. Spongebob Squarepants and Dora the Explorer will be at the park throughout the weekend on May 3rd and 4th for exciting Meet-n-Greet appearances for the young and young at heart.
The season promises to deliver a lot of excitement for visitors of the park. “It’s going to be an extraordinary year with a new thrill ride, free concerts, and live entertainment with something for everyone,” said Tracy Durham, Director of Marketing. “We have a lot in store for our guests all season long at America’s only downtown theme and water park!” As Elitch Gardens celebrates its 124th birthday this year, they are also adding more days, more hours, and more family fun, plus rolling back the prices on Season Passes and bringing back free concerts. The free concert series will feature pop trio Emblem3, Disney Superstars Zendaya and Bridgit Mendler, Hispanic music favorite Conjunto Atardecer, and Christian rock group Newsboys.
All-New family entertainment continues with Dive-In Movies. Guests can bring the family out to the Water Park for an evening of cinematic fun in the water and float in the wave pool while watching flicks on the big screen for a perfect summertime night out!
