Elitch Gardens to Donate $50,000 to The Greenway Foundation for South Platte River Preservation
Benefit Concert Featuring the Soulful Citizen Cope this Saturday
DENVER, CO (August 3, 2017) – Elitch Gardens Theme & Water Park is proud to host Citizens for the River, a benefit concert to support The Greenway Foundation this Saturday, August 5 at 8 p.m. at the park’s Arena Stage. The park owner, Revesco Properties, and other sponsors will donate more than $50,000 to The Greenway Foundation to kick off the event.
Rhys Duggan, President and CEO of Revesco Properties, will present the check to The Greenway Foundation before Citizen Cope takes the stage at 8 p.m. Additional event sponsors include D.A. Davidson & Co., Turner Construction and Alpine Bank.
The Greenway Foundation is a Denver-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that has led efforts, since 1974, to reclaim the previously neglected and underutilized South Platte River and its tributaries and establish them as places of environmental and recreational pride.
“As neighbors to the South Platte River, Elitch Gardens is grateful to The Greenway Foundation for decades of amazing work to transform the river and we take great pride in hosting this event,” Duggan said.
Spend Saturday at the park, screaming in fun on the hottest roller coasters and sliding down the coolest water slides in Denver. Then enjoy Citizen Cope as he rocks the Elitch Arena stage at 8 p.m. His unique, soulful sounds are southern rural, big sky lonely, concrete urban, and painfully romantic. In the past nine years, he has produced four albums of depth and distinction, each a critical chapter in his search for a sound that paints an auditory American landscape in which despair wars with hope and hope, tied to love, is elusive.
