DENVER, CO (April 25, 2016) – This Saturday and Sunday, April 30 & May 1, Elitch Gardens Theme and Water Park signals Denver’s unofficial start to summer and celebrates its 126th birthday! So put your party hat on and come help kick off a fantastic summer full of rides, slides, concerts, movies and glorious family fun!
In busily preparing for this monumental opening weekend Elitch Gardens has been working lots of overtime. With over 73,000 man hours for park prep and training, 5,120,000 feet of toilet paper, more than 200,000 stuffed animals, 17,000 lbs. of hamburger, 15,000 lbs. of French Fries all pre-ordered and 7,200 pansies planted you can bet the park is ready to serve up another memorable season!
“We’ve been testing coasters, tasting funnel cakes and training our team – we’re ready to get this party started,” said Tracy Durham, Elitch Gardens’ Marketing Director.
This 126th season of Elitch’s boasts more concerts, more dive-in movies, more late night hours and more special events than ever before. Guests can dance the night away at any of eight rocking concerts or float in the wave pool to the sights and sounds of family fun flicks on the big screen. With concerts like Rachel Platten, Echosmith, Daya, Shawn Hook and Skillet, guests get it all. And with six Dive-In movies featuring films like Star Wars the Force Awakens, Inside Out and, of course,Minions, families can take in fantastic Friday night fun. New for 2016 is Theme Thursday’s! Thursday night’s starting July 7 guests can enjoy extended park hours until 10 p.m. and fun themes such as We Love the 80s, Beach Party, Star Wars and Red, White & Blue Summer Games.
With all the rides, slides and shows at Elitch Gardens, a Season Pass is the best value and pays for itself in less than two visits. A Season Pass is just $69.99 and includes unlimited visits and great perks like free parking, three free tickets for friends, a free souvenir cup offering $1.25 refills all season, free concerts, free dive-in movies and more. Guests must purchase and visit by May 1st to receive all the benefits.
