Outdoor Classroom

May 10 & 11

Outdoor Classroom is an interactive day of challenges and fun exercises provided for you and your students with the help of our Partners in Education.  Highlights of the day include Hawkquest, Pop Culture Classroom, Dinosaur Ridge, Mr. Bones, Science Matters, Natures Educators and much more!

Physics Night
May 10

An annual event favorite! Elitch Gardens teams up with the University of Denver’s Department of Physics and Astronomy to explore the laws of physics in relation to roller coasters. Check out physics experiments performed throughout the park by University of Denver students and professors. Student’s grades 6-12 will test their knowledge on a variety of topics.

Show Us Your Coaster Contest! 
May 10 & 17

Learn why roller coasters are called ‘gravity rides’ by creating your very own coaster! 2018 Contest Rules and Judging Criteria Coming Soon. **Please note - limit of 2 entries per school. Space is limited!

Science Days
May 17, 18 & 22

Uncover the secrets of science as mad scientists perform, numerous interactive science experiments, throughout the park for children of all ages. Witness amazing demonstrations…explore the senses…spark the imagination!

Colorado Great Outdoors & Wildlife Days
May 23-25

Students and teachers can stop by exhibitor booths to learn more about our great Colorado Outdoors and Wildlife. Our partners for this event include Denver Parks and Rec, Nature's Educators, Colorado State Parks, the Environmental Protection Agency, Dinosaur Ridge, and much more to come! Students meet park rangers, learn about the environment, sort through fossils, explore eco-systems and have up close encounters with many reptiles!

Band and Choir
April 28, May 5, 10, 11, 12, 17, 18, 19, 23, 24 & 25

Bands, choirs, and orchestras perform in the Trocadero Ballroom at Elitch Gardens with professional music adjudicators. Groups receive taped and written adjudicators comments before they leave the performance site. Ratings of Gold, Silver, and Bronze will be awarded. The rest of the day is spent playing in the park. Music in the Park
May 5, 12 & 19

Music groups perform at an offsite location and then have a ticket to visit Elitch Gardens after their performance. An award ceremony is held in the Elitch Arena at 6 pm. For booking and inquiries, please contact Music in the Parks at 1.800.323.0974.

Trills and Thrills
May 5, 12 & 19
