Update March 29, 2021
Dear Friends,
We’ve missed you! We miss the laughs, the screams, the smell of funnel cakes and most of all your smiling faces!
I am excited to announce that the THRILLS ARE BACK AGAIN AT ELITCH GARDENS! The time has finally come to welcome you back to Colorado’s only combination theme and water park! We have been formally approved by City and State officials to open for the 2021 season with new health and safety guidelines. The fun begins for pass holders on April 24 and 25 and for the public on May 1.
At Elitch Gardens, the health and safety of our team members and guests are always our top priority. Our COVID-19 suppression plan is designed to meet or exceed all guidelines set forth by the city and county of Denver, the state of Colorado and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. Additional insight and guidance were also provided by our world-wide industry associations, IAAPA (International Association of Parks & Attractions) and WWPA (World Waterpark Association) to assure the park is a safe place to be and have fun.
Initially, we will be limiting the maximum daily attendance at the park as requested by government officials. To reduce congestion at the front gate and to ensure a smooth and safe experience for all visitors, we will be implementing an online reservation system. Reservations will be required for day tickets and season pass guests. We are sorry, but park admission is not guaranteed without reservations. Please visit our website for further details. In addition:
- Guests and team members will be required to wear a face-covering while in the park. The only exceptions will be for children aged 2 and under and while guests are enjoying water attractions.
- Team members and guests will undergo a verbal screening upon arrival each day. Additionally, team members receive a temperature check.
- Elitch Gardens will routinely clean and disinfect guest and team member touchpoints, including rides, counters, and other frequently touched surfaces, indoors and out.
- Free hand sanitizing stations will be placed throughout the park and signs displayed to encourage all employees and guests to wash their hands often and cover their coughs and sneezes. Guests will be required to use hand sanitizer before boarding rides/attractions.
- Signs, markers, and visual cues are provided to assist guests with social distancing practices while in line at the park entrance, attractions, restrooms, food service locations and more. Park seating and other social layouts will be arranged to ensure appropriate distancing between traveling parties.
- All Elitch Gardens team members will be trained on COVID-19 safety protocols and safe behaviors.
Elitch Gardens is grateful for guidance from City and State officials in developing an effective COVID-19 suppression plan. We will continue to work with them to monitor conditions, with the hope of safely adding to the capacity number in the future. What are your cleanliness and sanitization standards and procedures?
Here at Elitch Gardens, the safety and well-being of our guests and team members has always been our top priority. We have specific, stringent sanitation protocols in place for every operating department. In preparation for Opening Day and while closely monitoring the evolving situation, we have put in place plans to exponentially increase our sanitizing protocol and will continue to follow the guidance of state and local health agencies.
All guest and team member high-touch points including surfaces, railings, technology screens, handles and doors will be sanitized throughout the day as per regular policy. We are also adding additional hand sanitizer stations throughout the park. Anti-bacterial soap will continue to be available throughout the park and signs will be installed to remind team members and guests of health and hygiene best practices.
In addition to the steps outlined above, we will ask team members who are exhibiting cold or flu-like symptoms to stay home and contact their healthcare provider. The park will follow guidance from local and state officials, as well as the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) and World Health Organization (WHO.)
